Thanks to our fearless volunteers: Karen, Liz and son, Mike, and Jennifer, we have a new path for park visitors to get a little closer to some very cool native shrubs. Check it out next time you’re in Hanns Park!

We are very excited to announce that Phil Stevens from Berkeley’s Urban Creeks Council will be our guest speaker this year. Phil’s talk will comprise the first half of the morning, later we’ll prioritize and calendar workdays and research projects for the next twelve months. The event will take place in the Vista Room of the Cultural Center at Dan Foley Park. All are welcome; free refreshments.

Those who want to spend an easy morning picking up trash around the lake can come at 9 a.m.; but if you just want to come for a burger at 11:00, we’d love to see you. This is your party! If you’re planning to come early for the lake cleanup, wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, hat, gloves and sunscreen. Everyone welcome. Lunch is free, but PLEASE RSVP to 644-8949 ext. 292 or email info@VallejoWatershedAlliance.org so we know how much food to prepare.
Spring rains (or the lack of them) have caused new plots of native plants at Hanns Park to need a little human intervention. Join us on Saturday, June 22 for a morning of watering, mulching and general prep for the summer. Wear comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, gloves and a hat. We’ll provide all tools, water, and refreshments. See you at 9:00 a.m.!
