Saturday, November 16     9:00 a.m. to noon

It’s time to refresh the bark path in the native grass meadow, so that park visitors can enjoy it and reduce damage to native plants. We’ll meet in Hanns Park (entrance lot is on Skyline off Redwood Parkway). Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen, and gloves. We’ll bring water, refreshments, and tools. Habitat Restoration in Hanns Park Burn Area

Saturday, October 26, 9 a.m. to noon

A recent fire in one of our habitat restoration sites on the Blue Rock Springs Creek Corridor creates an opportunity to reseed the area with native grass and pollinator plants. Park in the Hanns Park lot on Skyline off Redwood, and walk up the bike path to mile marker 0.34. Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen, and gloves. We’ll bring water, refreshments, and tools.

Please join us on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. You can find us at the Alliance cleanup site on the corner of Fairgrounds Drive and Coach Lane, or if you want to clean at a different site in town, email Info@ValcoreRecycling.org and they’ll help you find your spot. Wear closed-toe shoes, sturdy clothes, hat, sunscreen and gloves. Bring a bucket or water bottle if you have them. All participants will need to sign a waiver; volunteers under age 18 will need one signed by their parent/guardian. We’ll have waivers on site, or you can get yours in advance on Valcore’s website at www.ValcoreRecycling.org. See you there!

Saturday, August 17 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon

Dan Foley Cultural Center/Vista Room, 1499 North Camino Alto

We are delighted to welcome Sarah McKibbin from the Solano Resource Conservation District (RCD). We’re heading into the second planting season on the Lake Dalwigk restoration project, and Sarah will share how accomplishments to date and what volunteer assistance will be needed this winter. The presentation will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. After that, we will calendar activities for the next twelve months. Members of the public are invited to come for the presentation or stay for the entire meeting. Free refreshments and parking. Also of note, The Solano RCD will host a propagation volunteer day on Friday, August 9, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at their nursery near Vacaville. Native plant seeds will be started to support planting at Dalwigk and other restoration sites in Solano County. Saturday, July 20 at Blue Rock Springs Park

Every year, Alliance volunteers gather to celebrate the work of the year. You can spend an easy morning picking up trash around the lake (come at 9 a.m.); or just come for a burger or hotdog at 11:00 a.m. No need to work. This is your party! If you come for the lake cleanup, wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, hat, gloves and sunscreen. All volunteers welcome. Lunch is free, but PLEASE RSVP to (707) 652-7812 or email Info@VallejoWatershedAlliance.org so we know how much food to prepare.

Habitat restoration projects along the Blue Rock Springs Creek Corridor need your help before summer! Park in the Wardlaw Dog Park lot. Follow the path behind the dog park. Cross the bridge over the creek and turn right (west) along the path. Shortly after you cross under Oakwood Avenue, you’ll see our site at Mile Marker 0.69. Rindler Creek flows out of the hills to the east of Vallejo, down into Lake Chabot. It attracts a fair amount of trash, unfortunately, and it’s time for a spring cleaning! Meet at the corner of Fairgrounds Drive and Coach Lane. Wear sturdy clothes and shoes, glove, hat and sunscreen. We will provide tools, trash bags, water, and refreshments. Earth Day Festival: Saturday, April 20  –  9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Free fun for the family on Earth Day, which will take place at the Vallejo Farmers Market on Georgia Street at Marin. Jugglers, face painting, music, Loma Vista Farm Animals to pet, and the Vallejo Watershed Alliance touch tanks of “Critters of Lake Chabot.” Stop by the Vallejo Flood & Wastewater booth for information on less-toxic garden solutions (bring your old mercury fever thermometer and they’ll exchange it for a new digital model). Earth Day Creek Cleanup: Saturday, April 27  –  9 to 11 a.m.

Join us in a cleanup along Blue Rock Springs Creek in Vallejo. It’s a family friendly event (if you are under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult). Dan Foley Community Park : Boat Launch

Families are coming to Lake Chabot soon for the Inner-City Fishing Program, and we need to do a little shoreline improvement so they can reach the water. Wear sturdy clothes and shoes (waders if you have them), hat, sunscreen, and gloves. We’ll provide water and refreshments, as well as any tools that are needed.
