Seasons Greetings

Happy holidays and grateful thanks to all of you who worked with the Vallejo Watershed Alliance in 2021.

It was another challenging year, but DIY Cleanups were a great success in the early months, and we were thrilled to get back to in-person events later in the spring. (As always, if anyone wants to do their own mini cleanup, just let us know and we’ll make sure you have what you need.)

Over the course of the year, with your help, the Watershed Alliance hosted cleanups and/or habitat enhancement projects at Lake Dalwigk, Lake Chabot and Hanns Park, along Rindler Creek and Blue Rock Springs Creek. We celebrated summer with a BBQ at Blue Rock Springs Park, hosted a Lake Chabot informational meeting, participated in Coastal Cleanup Day, and kicked off a wonderful new project with the Solano Resource Conservation District and the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation at Glen Cove Waterfront Park.

Our next event will take place on Saturday, January 15 — we’ll be planting salt grass and creeping wild rye at Lake Dalwigk, and will be sure to send out a reminder with all the details in early January.

We wish you a joyous and healthy holiday season and look forward to 2022 with great anticipation.
