Happy holidays and grateful thanks to all of you who worked with the Vallejo Watershed Alliance in 2023.
With your help, the Alliance hosted cleanups and habitat enhancement projects at Glen Cove Waterfront Park, Lake Dalwigk, Lake Chabot and Hanns Park, along Rindler Creek and Blue Rock Springs Creek. We celebrated with you at a summer BBQ at Blue Rock Springs Park, hosted an informational meeting on the expanded projects and exciting new grant funding at Lake Dalwigk, hosted a Coastal Cleanup Day site, and more. We participated in the Visions of the Wild Discovery Zone with touch tanks introducing the public to the Critters of Lake Chabot, and our Chair, Doug Darling, was honored as one of Vallejo’s environmental heroes.
2024 will bring many more events and changes. Mark your calendars now for Saturday, January 20, when we will return to Glen Cove Waterfront Park to continue work on the habitat restoration work there. In February, we’ll be at Lake Dalwigk and are very excited to see some of the changes that will complete the overhaul of the park. More info on both to come in the January email.
